All Things New

“I make all things new” Rev 21:5

This simple phrase never caught my attention until I heard it spoken in the movie, The Passion of the Christ. While Jesus carried the heavy load of the cross to Calvary He spoke these words to Mary. She seemed to understand the weight of the statement.  I did as well. This powerful scene made me want to stand to my feet and shout His message – He Makes All Things New!

I need to be reminded of this truth regularly. As a new year begins I am once again reminded of Christ’s great gift. We are made new in Him. “Old things have passed away” and we have been given forgiveness, hope and new life in Christ.

This is the message that you and I continue to take to the youth of Tuscaloosa. In 2013 we will open our 13thministry site. In thirteen different locations across our community you will take this message to young people who do not know about these “new things.” We are privileged to share it with them. Wow, what a blessing.

Thank you for your regular and generous support of our mission. Some of you are new partners with YFC. And others of you have been reaching the youth of Tuscaloosa for years. I am grateful for all of you. Together you provide the resources to share Christ with over 600 youth each week. If you have not recently done so I would like to invite your prayerful consideration to grow your support.  YFC continues to grow and with that advancement of ministry we need added resources.  If you are in a position to raise your pledge, please do so. Thank you for your continued partnership.

Please be my guest at our Grand Opening of our new TeenCenter on Sunday, January 27thbetween 2:00 and 4:00. Our prayer dedication will take place at 3:00. The new Center is located at 1401 McFarland Blvd N. It is next door to First Wesleyan Church.

I pray your 2013 will find you even closer to Christ and aware of His blessings. I hope to see you on the 27th.
